Spring Cleaning Solutions With Essential Oils

When creating your DIY projects, remember it is important to put safety first.

Never use EOs near a fire or open flame; work in a well-ventilated space.  ALWAYS wash your hands after handling EOs. Be careful around children, pets, furniture, carpets, and computers, and during the first trimester of pregnancy.  Keep hands away from mouth and eyes, and if you get oil in your eyes use milk first, then water to flush.  When mixing with a carrier oil remember they have a shorter shelf life, so always mix small batches.  Always use CLEAN glass bowls, metal pans, and metal spoons when mixing recipes, never wood or plastic.

Essential Oils are best stored in a dark color GLASS bottle out of direct sunlight, and in a cool environment (less than 50 degrees room temperature) to prevent oxidation.

Citrus oils have a six-month shelf life for full therapeutic value – and can still be used for cleaning after that time frame.
